George R. Brown School of Engineering Research

Rice University has a tradition of rigorous academic programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Students entering the School of Engineering find challenges in the classrooms and in the research labs. A low student/faculty ratio (less than seven-to-one) means that faculty are accessible to students, and students often enter relationships with faculty that continue throughout their careers.

Engineering students at Rice are provided excellent grounding in the fundamentals of their chosen fields. At the same time, they are exposed to the latest developments in engineering through continuing changes in the curricula. Ongoing dialogue between the departments provides new direction. Students are also exposed to their fields through research and internships with industrial partners.
